CANOES, RAFTS, KAYAKS
FISHING

Canoes, one-person, sit-on-top kayaks and six-person rafts are available for rent on the scenic and secluded St. Francis River and Big Creek. Big Creek is best floated in the spring and fall, while the St. Francis is floatable year-round. Half-day, one, two and three day float trips can be arranged. Shuttle service available. Bikes for rent.

There's excellent fishing for smallmouth bass on both rivers, so be sure to bring your gear!

RUSTIC, NATIVE STONE
CABINS

Sam A. Baker State Park has 18 beautiful, rustic cabins made of native stone and wood with modern conveniences. Most were built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and the WPA in the mid-1930's. They lie along a wooded hillside overlooking the Park and a stone's throw away from Big Creek and the 12-mile Mudlick Trail. Most have fireplaces, kitchens, full baths, heating and air-conditioning, outside grills, firepits and picnic tables. They are equipped with bedding, towels and kitchen utensils. Cabins are available for rent April through October.
